I watch with some amusement and dismay such reality shows as DCC Making the Team on CMT.
Here thousands of the most scrumptious women in the country travel to Dallas to maybe get a shot at a job that only pays $500.00 per year with some slight royalties on sales of calendars and such.
Yet the Hazzard Knytes on an average pays $50,000.00 a year plus 30% royalties on calendar and promo items, and we have to near beg for talent.
Now granted, auditioning in downtown Burley or Twin Falls Idaho is probably part of it, but even albeit somewhat better numbers of possibles , but we just don’t get quality talent.
The question becomes why?
Sure the Dallas Cowboys are a great organization, but the Hazzard Knytes and working with an organization with a minimum membership in each of 50 states of America, of 1,000 one would think we could at least command some serious attention.
Then I watch all these pageant contests on TV that mothers damn near starve and shove their daughters even preteens into contests, and one has to wonder, is that one 15 minute shot on TV really worth that kind of mental trauma that, that kid is going to experience.
I also watched this show on CMT Friday following DCC 7, Making the team, called Cheer. Will these TV networks not stop at nothing to snag a rating? Hell I’d rather watch Lizard Lick Towing.
This entry is aiming at something and I’ll get into it Saturday, but to put it shortly, would you as a gal be better off auditioning to be one of the Hazzard Knyte’ , Hazzard Angels? Or be degraded by auditioning for a very low wage talent job , being a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader?
