You might be a Dukes fan, but do you live Hazzard County?

PhootNotes Hedder

I have noticed over several days, that a resurgence of Hazzard fever has once again infected Hazzard Nation. But I also find that many are just casual fans, and do not live each day , each hour, each millisecond as if they were in Hazzard County, more over ignore the lessons that each episode taught about life.

Sure these were written by script writers, but the above excellence of Mr. Pyle as Uncle Jessie gave us these lessons in a way even the smallest child could absorb.

Many episodes taught life lessons that if you looked underneath you could gain the message and inspiration from.

Then there are the stars that all too many forgot. My cousin Richie Montgomery of WHOGG. But more over, the balladeer Waylon Jennings, who was a huge star of what was branded Outlaw Kountry music. Yet all too many of the so called fans don’t even know Waylon, have never listened to his music. All too many want to listen to Taylor Swift, but forget Donna Fargo or Lynn Anderson. Both were on the Dukes.

Did ya’ll forget Hoyt Axton? Johnny Paycheck, Buck Owens ?

I am a great fan of Waylon, loved his music then , treasure it now. Plus I love albeit not much of it on YouTube , but love his son Shooter Jennings music. Did you abandon all those people?

Did ya’ll know that long before Gaylord Broadcasting owner of Oprey Land , and producers of a thing we called Hee-Haw, the Hazzard Knytes was buying hours of time blocks on just about every dang TV station in the Mountain West, just so they would run the syndicated version of the Dukes? Did ya’ll know it was the Hazzard Knytes that went to Gaylord Broadcasting and petitioned and lobbied , to get them to put the series on, to get TNN to buy the broadcast rights to the Dukes so we could see it? To get Luke Duke as host of Nashville Now, just so they would run the Dukes? But what did you do to save and serve Hazzard Nation? What did you spend out of your own pocket to further the Hazzard Nation agenda?

Did you pay $500,000.00 for a radio station license just so the voice of the Hazzard Nation could be heard? Did you risk everything even jail time just to preserve Hazzard Nation? Not only myself but many of the 50,000 membership of the Hazzard Knytes have.

Sadly due to so many events that cost me both time and money, I have yet been able to go to DukesFest, or Hazzard County Homecoming, but I try each year, but I’m always there in spirit. The fact is our country is under so much hardship many can’t go to such events.

So the Hazzard Knytes are busy working to bring such an event back to the Mountain west. Likewise I’d love to visit Cooter’s Place, problem is money don’t allow. For that reason, we in the Hazzard Knytes are building Hazzard County CSA(Confederate-States-of-America). The Hazzard Knytes are working on a script to explore Hazzard County beyond the Dukes in two movie projects, one called Hazzard Knytes the other HazzardAyre.

In closing when you have the wind of Hazzard County under your wings, ya’ll can’t do anything but soar, but for the rest, you might be a Dukes fan, but do you really , truly, live and love Hazzard County?
